My college life consisted of six weeks of intensive learning. There were twenty or so adult students; all looking to get a class course during the hot season. We were all getting refresher courses in public speaking & supplier law because we were competing for a task. Whoever got the most ideal grade was the lucky person who got the task. We ended up living in the dorm rooms while we were there & then, we were college students. We were those crazy wide-eyed students that had never been away from our properties before. My parents were watching my youngsters, & I was free for a couple weeks. The one wild weekend it was so warm that we couldn’t breathe & the humidity was incredibly high. They had tornado watches up all over, & no one was allowed to leave the campus at all. I called my youngsters & they seemed satisfied to be with grammy & pop. As I hung up, the lights went out, & so did the HVAC equipment. We lost our air conditioner & the air was totally warm & stifling. We were all led down to the storm shelter. The air conditioner equipment wasn’t working here either & all we could do was kneel in the hot, humid air & listen to the campus shaking like crazy. One of the ladies began to sing an aged Partridge song & soon everyone joined in. It was getting hotter without any AC equipment, however we were laughing & singing as the storm blazed on. Soon, the lighting came on & we could hear the AC equipment droning. There were broken buildings all around however we were perfectly safe, & now we were cool, out of that room. I called my youngsters & said I was coming back home to the property.
